Starter 2: What is the message of this cartoon?  Do you agree or disagree with the message?  Why?

Galtung Jigsaw: Get a group with people who have the different violence distinctions.  Share posters, definitions, and examples, and take notes on other distinctions.

Capitalism vs. Communism: In your group, go through the grid handout and answer the two questions on the bottom (discuss first, then write).  Then, develop a short (1 min) skit that illustrates the ideal and real of either capitalism or communism.

Hegemony Lecture and Notes: Take notes during lecture on cultural and economic hegemony.
