Resume Categories

Possible categories to include on your resume are (choose 3-5):

• Education
• Interests
• Community Work
• Extracurriculars
• Activities
• Achievements/Awards
• Goal
• Summary
• Project Highlights
• Employment
• Volunteer Work

Resume Tips

• Keep it at 2  pages or less
• In your descriptions, start with a verb, leave out prounouns
• List things in reverse chronological order (most recent at top, furthest away at the bottom)

Resume Writing

• Choose your categories
• Write categories and descriptions
• Format (feel free to use templates if that helps!)
• Edit carefully
• Print a copy

HOMEWORK

Finish draft of resume, and print it out for critiques tomorrow.
